Deck Mate

The Remedial Cleaner for Marine Environments.

What is Deck Mate?

Deck Mate is a new cleanser that incorporates a proven bioremediation method for the clean-up of boats and bilges. Bioremediation is the technology of using NATURALLY OCCURRING microorganisms to degrade oil and other hydrocarbons. This is the same technology that has been used to clean up large scale spills in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as throughout the world.

These are two parts to the Deck Mate Cleanser. The biodegradable liquid solution, and the microbial organisms (in powder-like form). These hydrocarbon degrading microorganisms are cultivated to eat hydrocarbons (oil). This is their sole purpose for living, and they are grown to ensure that they do just that – eat oil. The liquid was developed specifically for use in conjunction with the oil eating microbes. The Deck Mate solution will help lift the contaminant off of the surface, and place the oil in suspension thus allowing the microorganisms to degrade the oil.

How Does Deck Mate Work?

The microorganisms utilized in the cleanser are totally natural and non-hazardous. In the enclosed packet of powder, there are 10(12) (1 trillion) organisms per gram. By taking these microorganisms and mixing large numbers of them with the cleanser, they are able to eat the contaminant out of the water phase. Deck Mate will successfully remediate motor oil, diesel fuel, transmission fluid and many other hydrocarbons.

The microorganisms will attach themselves to the hydrocarbons, and begin to degrade them while the cleanser is working. The final by-products of degradation are totally safe and non-toxic. Because Deck Mate contains living micro-organisms, it cannot be used in conjunction with any cleaner that functions as a fungicide or bactericide (disinfectant). Neutralize any residues that may damage or kill the microbes.

Deck Mate should be used at the rate of one gallon per 500 gallons of water in the bilge.
